Stop the world…
I find myself in constant counting. I noticed I haven’t spent a countless day for a while now and it makes me feel a bit down.
Because
I count the nights.
I count the days between the dates.
I count the days without meeting my dearest friend.
I count the days with no talking
I count the days with no walking.
I count the things that went wrong.
I count the things that may go wrong.
I count the coffies that keep me awake.
I count the number of neurotransmitters that make me feel this way…
And I wonder…
How many counts can a counter do in her life? What is my number? Is it measured in seconds? Minutes? Blue skies or feelings?
Stop the world Yesterday.

Heh nisem ravno navdušenec matematike, vendar mi je všeč =)
Me je spomnilo na to pesem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsDvLTpuTvU
In pa… Razumem.
@Vika: dobra pesem, hvala :)
In ja, kar se izpitov tiče… eno samo odštevanje :/ Bila bi srečna, če se kaj vidiva, preden odrinem za (ne)določen čas… :)
True enough, it’s way too easy to lose oneself in the midst of all that counting. I know people who go abroad, only to fill their days with checklists of the sights they want to see. I know people, who measure a good evening in doses of alcohol. I know people, who study for the ECTS credits. Most common I come across people who work just to turn the digits of their bank account. People with the above symptoms come in dozens. I should know, for I used to be a number, too. Numbers are a splendid tool, there’s no denying that. But to vanish in the haze of twos and sevens is to reduce one’s personality to numbers.
P.S.
So nice to see you writing again! I’d been wondering where you’d gone. Did you get the IAESTE job or what’s your plan for the summer?
Dear Tommi,
yes, I’m back to (writing) life :) It’s good to read you too, though! It’s been too long a while…
I think a lot about numbers. Counting. The last time we had a barbecue we needed to put together the grill – you know what? We had to integrate it per partes! :) But that’s the lovely part of it, isn’t it?
PS: I got the job in UK! The one I wanted to :) So I am looking forward to meet the philo-folks there as well ;). Hopefully we can meet.
